BACKGROUND:
ESI Design transformed the lobby and mezzanine lounge at JP Morgan's NYC office into an immersive digital art environment using custom LED columns and seamless projection.
ESI Design transformed the lobby and mezzanine lounge at JP Morgan's NYC office into an immersive digital art environment using custom LED columns and seamless projection.
WHAT WE DID:
Created the ribbon media for the mezzanine lounge. Helped resolve compositing issues and ran projector blending tests for other lounge media. Designed multiple media modes for the LED columns — the key challenge being tileable assets that wrap seamlessly around a cylindrical surface. Also created one of the 10K cloth simulation renders for the lobby, built in Cinema 4D and rendered in Redshift. With viewers in close proximity to the projection surface, the cloth collision simulation had to be precise.
